The Outdoors Kindergarten

we're opening a new setting!

Thank you for your interest in The Outdoors Kindergarten at Crediton

We are all very excited to be opening a new setting in Crediton during summer term 2022! After sadly having to close our site in Shillingford 2 years ago, we can’t wait to get back in the woods!

The Outdoors Kindergarten enables children to spend most of their time learning as nature intended. We embrace the seasons, learning through natural play in the outdoors…and on a few occasions, when the weather is wild we may even retreat to the cosy indoors!

We look at the world from a child’s perspective. We believe that children are the happiest when they are outdoors – gaining a sense of freedom to explore, to play and make friends in a welcoming, nurturing and positive environment.

We use the outdoors as our classroom each and every day. We place outdoor learning and forest school at the heart of everything we do. Our Forest School ethos promotes multi-sensory child-led outdoor play, encouraging and stimulating curiosity, supporting development and children’s physical awareness of the world around them.

Our team believe that early education is not just about preparing children for school or home education, but about preparing them for life. Our focus is on building resilience, independence, self-confidence, nurturing creative and critical thinking and teamwork. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework which enables us to accept government funded places.

The Details

The Kindergarten will be open for 3 to 5 year olds 8:30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday during term time

Ofsted Report

Fabrianne and Rob headed up our previous Kindergarten in Shillingford and are so excited about getting back into the early years world in Crediton. They successfully achieved an Ofsted rating of Good with Outstanding in Personal, Social and Emotional Development – and all of this on a snow day in sub zero temperatures!
