Hello. We're The Outdoors Group
Since our official beginnings in 2011, our company has grown beyond our wildest dreams.
What started as a handful of Forest School sessions in a small patch of woodland just outside Exeter with just three members of staff has become an ever-growing and adapting entity comprised of a whole host of people passionate about outdoor education and experiences with a desire to change the face of education as we know it.

Over the last ten years, our philosophy and practice has developed and evolved in accordance with the needs of our attendees and the changing society we are part of. We take a holistic approach, addressing social and emotional wellbeing before looking at the more traditional measures of success. We believe in engaging those we are working with in the process at every stage and work hard to promote well rounded, confident and resilient young people and adults that are considerate of the community they are a part of and the environment that we all share.

The Team
Our colleagues are a mixture of experienced Forest School Leaders, teachers, teaching assistants, administrators, estates people, marketers, support staff and specialists in a realm of different areas. Beautifully individual as they may all be, they are united by a love of the outdoors and a passion for using the natural environment to inspire, educate and nurture. As a team, we continuously share skills and knowledge, enabling us to develop our provision through best practice rather than sticking to the status quo. We are committed to offering a safe and stimulating, yet relaxed and friendly environment where children, young people and adults are free to lead their own learning journey in nature’s very own playground.
This love of the outdoors and awareness of its importance in our lives is what underpins our pledge to do as much as humanely possible to play our part in stopping the climate crisis we find ourselves in. As a company, we are working towards becoming carbon negative by 2030, a certified B Corporation and want to encourage the next generation that we work with to be loud and active protectors of the natural world that we live in.
discover and grow
We strive to keep our prices affordable and to follow a schedule that allows as many children as possible to experience what we offer. Where long term attendance and seeing the seasons develop and change year-through is not always possible, we believe that short experiences of Forest School and other outdoor experiences in all shapes and forms are better than none at all.
Our team may have grown in both number and experience, but our ethos and practice has remained true; striving to always provide the space for our attendees to PLAY, EXPLORE, DISCOVER and GROW.
