Job description

The Outdoors Group (TOG) is hiring an Outreach Manager/Tutor to lead tailored educational programmes for learners facing barriers to traditional education. You will collaborate with the Alternative Outdoor Provision (AOP) Pillar, The Outdoors School (TOS), and external stakeholders to deliver impactful outreach services across Devon, Torbay, and surrounding areas.

The role involves building partnerships with SENCOs, Local Authorities, and other agencies to enhance SEND support and teaching practices. You will design, implement, and evaluate tailored outreach programmes, using your understanding of EHCPs and SEN learners to support schools in creating positive learning outcomes.

Outreach services will include in-school weekly support packages to help learners develop coping strategies, enhance personal growth, and reintegrate into education. You will also contribute to Continuous Professional Development (CPD) opportunities, helping professionals upskill and better support their learners.

Main Duties and Responsibilities;

  • Work closely with the Head of Alternative Outdoor Provision (AOP) and The Outdoor School to develop and expand the AOP Outreach provision, ensuring alignment with business area goals and targets.
  • Act as the designated Safeguarding Lead for the Outreach provision, serving as the main point of contact for staff on safeguarding matters.
  • Liaise with internal departments to ensure effective promotion of the Outreach provision, collaborating with the Marketing team to advertise sessions and maximise engagement.
  • Implement and oversee quality assurance procedures for the AOP Outreach provision, ensuring delivery is in line with established KPIs and standards of excellence.
  • Gather, analyse, and report timely data to support business intelligence, enabling the Head of Department (HOD) to make informed and dynamic decisions to drive growth, flexibility, and adaptability within the Outreach provision.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, organisational policies, and stakeholder requirements.
  • Work with the HOD to monitor and manage financial matters, delivering value for money through robust reviews and reporting.
  • Research, plan, deliver, and evaluate new Outreach opportunities to meet the evolving needs of stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders to deliver safe and effective Outreach programmes in line with company risk assessments and safety procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of delivery, fostering meaningful engagement with stakeholders to enhance the learner experience and the overall quality of Outreach provision.

Qualifications & Training

Essential

  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above)

Desirable

  • Knowledge of EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans).
  • Evidence of management or leadership experience or training.
  • Teaching qualification (Such as QTS)
  • Forest School Training
  • First Aid Paediatric
