We are delighted to now be able to offer the opportunity for early career teachers and other educational students to have a hands-on introduction to Forest School and Outdoor Education.
As both these concepts have become commonplace within the majority of educational settings, we’d like to offer students the chance to understand the ethos of forest school and outdoor education through a practical day of activities and talks in the woods.
As well as having the chance to learn some basic Forest School skills, we will introduce attendees to some of our staff from The Outdoors School so they can offer an insight into the alternative approach to education that we take.
The agenda on the day will be as follows (subject to slight change):
8:45am – 9am | Attendees arrive, park, met by staff and walk down to training site |
9am – 9:45am | Introductions and ‘Who are The Outdoors Group?’ |
9:45am – 10:15am | Forest School Ethos |
10:15am – 10:30am | Tea/Coffee Break |
10:30am – 11:45am | Den Building Activity and discussion |
