An evening at Exeter Living Awards

It’s a little over a month since we attended the Exeter Living Awards as finalists…maybe its taken us that long to recover!

It’s not often as part of our job that we get to don our posh frocks for an evening, in fact it’s not often we even see each other looking remotely clean! So the opportunity to celebrate the success of the Outdoors Group for an evening at the Exeter Living Awards was too good an event to turn down – especially for me in the midst of my maternity leave!

Arriving at the University there was a sense of feeling immensely important as part of the brilliant Forest team. I was really proud to be representing the Outdoors Group alongside Rob (Kindy team), Melinda (Schools team) and Shev and Tom, our fantastic directors. After a bit of hobnobbing with some other businesses in the county, and finding it very easy to talk about our education ethos and general passion for the outdoors, we all sat down to a fancy meal and a few wines too.

The first, and arguably most important (!), category was the Education Award and we were really chuffed to be Finalists alongside some top notch educators and even more delighted when we won Highly Commended. Next year that winner’s trophy has our name on though…! It was a fantastic evening all in all and really did cement how far the Outdoors Group has come, from it’s establishment 10 plus years ago to now as a growing education facility with 4 campus’ across Devon. We are all really rather proud of ourselves. Thank you Exeter Living Awards for a brilliant event and the humbling nomination and huge congratulations to Cornerstone Academy – well done guys!
